Self Leadership !!

In today's lecture of Anil sir's a very unique aspect of human psych was touched. Beginning the day with such an input by the by him was not as i expected. And it turned out that this was necessary for all people to know. The functionality of the brain plays an important role in action that we do. The grasping complexity which we face are resolved and understood by the left brain while the creative ability is the responsibility of the right brain. There are six main points which one should keep in mind which are:
  • Defining the frame
  • Meaningful and reliable information
  • Alternatives
  • Criteria
  • Evaluation
  • Preparing for implementation
The above six points are considered to be six steps towards the "VISION" a person has in mind. A vision should be defined and should be meaningful to you. The reliability of the vision plays a very important part in the success of the vision. Then what are the alternatives which are present for the same big question!! What are the criteria on which I am going to assess about the alternatives and my vision so that any improvement can be evaluated and implemented. Then came the fact that when a person has to take a decision then what is that keeps his fuel burning. The six points which were discussed above are communicated between the "Decision Team" and "Decision Board". Certain key points regarding the decision is the creativity:
  • Ideational Fluency
  • Originality of thinking
  • association fluency
  • symectics
Then we were told to do an activity in which we had to write down uses of pen as much as we can imagine or understand. Along with that we were given a situation which we had to compare to an animal and match the characteristic of both which is known as "symectics". Then we were told that fears are a major hindrance between us and happiness. There are 5 fears in our mind:
  • Failure
  • Criticism
  • Ambiguity
  • Lack of resources
  • Self Image
  • Starved sensibility
Simple word but great impact on my mind. As I had experienced and observed such fears in my self and other in the college rather in my class itself. That was an astonishing fact that a behavior is actually a manifestation of fear now a days in many people. A good eye opening session by the best orator I had met!!

Emotional Intelligence_October6

                                    The Inner Realm to Control!!!

The fourth realm of the human is the emotional intelligence. The sustenance of this layer is the thought and the feelings that change the universe or just instigate the process.  The facilitator of this journey towards meeting yourslef has a major role to play in this whole aspect. Knowing and trusting is the big issue for all. The people who has inspired us the most have done that because of the emotional quotient. We remember the people by the way they have affected us emotionally. The small things which they have done so that the other people are not behind the walls of inhibition. Any great leader or an inspired leader has helped the people become aware of there strength and acknowledge it forever and value it forever. To be one with the thought and not with the words is what makes you a leader. To understand it all one has to know and appreciate the emotional self. However this same layer is the one which causes the notion in the person of being a VICTIM. And this being a victim has its causes coming from the three emotions:
  • Regret
  • Guilt
  • Disappointment
With these feelings there emerges a slef doubt which causes all the problems in the life of the individual. So what is the way to control these feelings. One of the most efficient way is freinds. You share these incidents with freinds or someone who is not judging you. That helps you to identify the causality and hence to remove the sense of being a victim. Be engrossed in that particular moment and be nowhere else. Be one with what you do and what you do will be you.

                            Grahasta Ashram....

The second phase of life of a person is known as the grahasta ashram. This is considered to be the most flavored ashram of all. In this when a person comes in after his first phase he goes to the grahasta ashram. The episode depicts the flavors like respect, understanding, tension, love and being upset. Depicted by a beautiful concept of a mahakavi , great poet, who is also a great donator, a philanthropist also. But his wife is always worried because to fulfil his desire of helping others has cost them a fortune always. Whatever he wins in the contest while coming towards home he donates it to the needy nad the poor. One day a yachak comes to his house for getting help. The reason being that yachak requires money so that he can marry his only daughter. The mahakavi, out of his nature, decides to help him and for doing so he tells his servant to gather the jewellery in the house so that they can somehow arrange for the wedding. At the end of the day there was only one thing left for the wedding which was the kangan which are to be given to the bride. The mahakavi takes out the kangan from his wife's hand and gives it to the servant so that the wedding can be prosperous knowing that when his wife come's to know about it then there will be chaos!! Still he gives it and in the morning when he is about to leave for the wedding his wife calls him. Saying that in a wedding both kangan should have been given. Pleasantly shocked the mahakavi smiles knowingly!!
The grahasta ashram is one of the most flavored and revered ashramin the phases of life in which a person has to fulfill his karma with the knowledge and plethora of emotions!!!

                                                 The first ashram of life

The story which was depicted in the episode was about the about the first ashram of the life. It depicted a child who was son of a dasi who had served many people. The child , always having so many questions, is unable to find any priest who would take him as their disciple. Considering that he has no knowledge about what is background is the priests always refuse to his requests. One day a priest from outside the native place comes to the shore for some prayer offering to the gods. The child goes to him and asks if he would be able to teach him and make him disciple. Sensing the inquisitiveness in his tone he asked him to go and ask him to go and ask his mother regarding his background to know if he is fit for being called his disciple. Ecstatic the child runs and asks his mother about the same. Knowing that she cannot tell the background or the gotra of the child she tells him to say that she is the son of Jakala. Verbatim, the child tells it to the priest who accepts it and makes him the disciple. Irate, the other priests go to the king and tell him to ask why such a ghastly decision has been taken!! While leaving the shore, the king asks why has he taken in Satykam, the child, as his disciple. Understanding the implication of the question the priest said that truth is the only background required for a person to gain knowledge and nothing else. Whatever Satyakam has told , the way he has told is only truth. The person who says truth is the one who has touched the brahma and nothing else can disharm him.
The understanding was this from the episode that the starting ashram or the vidyarthi ashram is the one for knowledge. And knowledge does not mean that you have recite rhyms etc it means to have the knowledge of being. And truth is the only knowledge which is the basis for any form of knowledge to be undertaken regardless of caste and creed!!

                                                               MOKSHA

A sunday morning pleasant day ahead as i believed it to be. The only day in the week when we get a holiday and spend time with our parents. Enjoy and be merry with them, share our concerns and listen to there concerns. Today I had to watch a serial on DD national named   " UPANISHAD GANGA". I remebered those days when on sunday Ducktails and talespin use to come and also who can forget the JUNGLE BOOK!! After so many years today I had to see the same channel which was associated with my childhood. Upanishad ganga is a serial which tells the learnings and teaching which are preached in the upanishads in hindu relegion. Today was the topic of moksha. Moksha as we all know is the removing of thyself from the viscious circle of being born again and again in this world. But personally I never use to understand this queer concept of taking birth again and again. With this in my mind I began to see the program on the television. A thief who calls himself "satyakant chor" because if he gets caught he tells the truth of his profession. A strange thing to say and do knowing that it can cost you a lot!! And a very rich guy named " kotikarna" meaning having ears worth of a crore rupees. A guy who wants to conquer the world with his wealth and power. Inconsiderant and sometimes arrogant to the core as he is projected. Till one day he asks a person to sell his ghat to him. Initially the owner refutes to this proposition given to him but gradually succumbs to the insisent nature of kotikarna. Then kotikarna calls for a yachak a person who begs for food and other things. He asks him to say whatever he wants to take from this now owner of the ghat!! " Give me your arrogance ..." polite words of the yachak confuses him. Pondering in his home on the incident that had happened he was perplexed. He starts to think the other way now that is to let go of whatever he has acquired to know what he really is!! In the later half of the episode it is depicted that this rich man had now turned into a yachak himself and is not sad about it. For being happy you must know what is the source of it. Considering your physical self as yourself is what is the mistake commited by all. We need to see who we are. Moksha is knowing the fabric of yourself rather than the product of physicalness. In the end the satyakant thief also becomes a follower of the yachak to know what is worth leaving everything in the world.......

Moksha is that thing for which a person can leave anything in this world just to know what he is.....

                                                   The Labyrinth of feelings!!
The leadership as we were taught or rather explained was due to the senses that are present. Each sense whether it be eyes , nose, ears, skin or lips tell us something that is a trend of a leadership. A trait persistnet in everybody and yet not known to all. The circles around which the real I is hidden and how these all the senses play there part in confusing the observer that is the individual of knowing and yet doubting whether he knows all or not. A queer feeling arouse in me today of the fact that if all this is known and is fact why is that we don't or can't help ourselves on this matter. The questions that are always in my head echoing : " Who am I?" and " Where am I going to?" Everything every emotion has is conditioned by time whether it is instinct or mind or intellect or even our ego but one thing that is transcending this condition is the soul the I that resides as a silent observer in ourselves. The way to transcend your ego ,as i was eager to know this formula for i wanted to do so, is by unconditional love!! Listening to this i was perplexed by the simple statement of two words and yet the complexity it poses for all. How deep can this go, how lost can one be in such a scenario... Question pouring in my head left and right all together. Then a chord of rhythm struck me within and told that it is when you remove your ego out of the equation you tap the infinite source known as the I. Alas i thought i have figured it out but was it that easy??
An activity to be performed by looking towards your partner tell what he is trying to say ... rationality came into existence again and the thought " This can't be done " came in. But the confidence of Mr Anil Sachdev forcing me to try this and see. Overcoming the sane mind i tried and what happened was amazingly unique thing......
I could listen to the movements of the eyes and the increase decrease of the pupils depicting the emotional ride of my partner!!! Wow is it possible....
Emtions can reach to the other person if they are genuine no matter how but they surely will travel into your conscience. Then another fact which dawned by another activity was that the speaker is only because you are the listeners and if you are not then there is no body as a speaker. Small things logical and yet mystic in my mind. Realms have started opening lets hope we can reach that potential of mine.......

                                   The Oxymoronic existence of Knowledge!!
This the only thing that i could know realise and relate to in the session of self leadership.
At the beginning of the session as usual the pre-concieved notion of the fact that self leadership would include some of the most boring session till date. Knowing the essence and knowledge of the leadership. To my surprise i recieved a mail telling to write a blog or rather that we will have to write a blog on the session which we will undergo in the self leadership!! Weird i thought but anyways it has to be done..... We reached the room where the session was to take place and being seated waiting in the facet of the unknow..
Then it started the session beginning on the most basic question which everyone pondered over there entire life: " Who Am I?" Hmm that was the only reaction i could fathom to !!
And then began the journey which everyone likes to undertake the journey to yourself and nothing else. Knowing what is your fabric and knowing it the better than anybody else!!
A mere notion that if you know yourself only then you can know the leader in you. Beginning with the seven circles of existence of the soul or an individual breaking all the misconception and evoking more querries than ever in the same field of knowledge. " The labyrinth is what I have entered."  A maze of knowing yourself surrounded by the turns which would eventually lead us to where you begun and if a wrong turn is taken you would end up nowhere. The word itself now eludes me : " NOWHERE" it is either "now here" that means you have found what you are looking for or "no where" that means lost. The perception has changed as i would like to believe but it won't be easy i know. But yes after this session i would know where to look for the essence of knowing it to happen.

" There is always a labyrinth in the midst of my knowledge , I am looking for the way which would lead to my enlightenment....."
