Self leadership sessions by Anil sir have always been a treat to self discovery. More I attend these sessions more I boast my self confidence. The learning makes more sense to me when I am able to co-relate things with the practical world. The last session was about emotional Intelligence. A child learns different form of emotions since childhood. Through out our lifetime, we keep learning our emotions. We add variety to our emotions as we grow older. The one of the important aspect of this is "Body should be led by us, we should not be led by our body. Emotional intelligence is basically self awareness. Although, it starts developing from very childhood but it is also acquired. Since it is acquired so it can be changed or acquired at any point of time in life. And many researches have proved that emotional intelligence can be acquired.
In this session we did an exercise on Ego and Alter Ego where we discussed the question "Should SOIL introduce 2 years program?" Myself got two learning from this exercise.
1) We need to be a good listener to understand the meaning of each & every word of the speaker.
2) Alter Ego doesn't get 100% of Ego while listening to each other.
then we were given an insight on organizational complexities compared with technical complexities on high and low as graph parameters. Through this we understood the concept of facilitated listening and Most sophisticated listening. The bullet points which I noted down can be summary of the whole session and these bullet points are:
We should honor our uniqueness.
We should live our lives joyful everyday.
We should leverage our gifts and uniqueness and should also work on that cause.
We should share our joy with others.
We should enable others to find the child hidden inside them.
Then we were asked to answer few questions like "What is our present lives is all about?" and "Who are the people who matters most in our lives and their stated & unstated emotional expectations? "
With the last note on how to enable community building and we understood the better aspect of why we need community building. Most of us don't share their pains. They keep them deep in their hearts and feel always dejected. So by community building we can share each others pains and can work accordingly to help each others.
