Emotional Intelligence is extremely important for a leader
to evolve in today's challenging environment. The ability to perceive, manage
and understand your emotions is one of the finest assets a leader can have.
Studies have shown that EQ contributes significantly more to effective
leadership than IQ. In the middle of the “Talent War”, emotional Intelligence
can give emerging leaders a competitive edge. In 1995, Daniel Goleman published
“emotional Intelligence” which helped in popularizing the concept.
And, this is what we explored in Anil Sir’s session. Through
some of his exercises, we began self-exploration and tried to understand the
importance of Emotional self. The process he makes us follow has always been
very enriching which focuses on self awareness.
One of the important aspects of Anil sir’s class is Deep
Listening. Time and again through various exercises he has made us understand
the importance of listening to others.
We learnt some team building exercises and realized the
importance of the role of a Facilitator. Moreover, I learned to honour myself
which is extremely important.
Lastly, after every self awareness session I feel more
connected to my peers.i look forward to mor such sessions.
