With the passage of time, progress of technology also has come complexity the individual reality. We are no more simple living human beings but entangled in all the roles that we play on day to day basis. And in this process we lose hold of our conscience, Self Leadership 2.0 was conducted to make us aware of the same. Forming a significant part of conscience is Emotional Intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is one part which every person need to dwell upon in order to live a peaceful life. We are blessed with it from the beginning of our life but tend to lose track over the years. We hear but rarely listen, we see but rarely inscribe, and we teach but rarely preach, we learn but rarely act. In the process of growing up, we tend to develop a skin which becomes very hard to penetrate. But to become a true leader, even before that to become a true human being we have to learn to listen to what we want, what others are saying and what is required to be done. Keeping the past in mind as well implications on the future should the present be lived. The human habit of multitasking has made his mind a monkey, which keeps going into millions directions and over the years become very difficult to handle. However, what the ideal is, to do one thing at a time with complete indulgence. For example not hearing but listening that too deep listening.

When we communicate the message is not only limited to the words we speak, it flows through our expressions, our body posture, the hand movement, the pitch and finally the method of ending it. That is where the importance of emotional intelligence gets highlighted. We need to be wary how we communicate and the effectiveness of communication. At every stage we should look at ourselves through the eyes of an outsider to see if we are doing it the right way or not.
