Shruti Mishra_HRLP013_Self Leadership_May 2013

Today was the third class of Self Leadership and we were taught how to use the five senses to understand about the positive energy around us. Self leadership comprises of Self, Soul and Spirit. People who have direct access to consciousness can transcend time and space. Therefore, it is important to lower one’s ego so that the upper layers become more transparent and one can understand inner self clearly. It is being rightly said- “Religious preacher tries to divide while Spiritual Preacher tries to unite”.
I learned about the power of Observation by looking into the eyes of a person. Eyes are one of the most important senses as it expresses the feelings of the person whether one is happy, sad, emotional or in pain. Eyes and gestures can evidently express oneself to a large extent. I also learned that eyes, gestures and lips altogether play most important role in understanding the other person’s feelings with full clarity.
Thereafter, I have learned how important it is to be a good listener. Listening is a very powerful tool. Only a good listener can be an inspired leader as it helps the proper alignment of the senses with the feelings which in turn helps in understanding other people . Good listening skill also inspires the speaker to be more comfortable in expressing what one feels as the interest of the speaker is maintained.
Finally, I learned the power of touch. One can express his/her compassion, love and support to others through the sense of touch. Touch can heal the pain of a person in distress by instilling calmness and support within him/her. Even the physical pain can be reduced or completely eliminated by the sense of touch. All the positive energies can be gathered and used to enable people come out of the physical pain or mental stress.
