After a night of fun frolic in S.O.I.L's fresher party waking up in the morning with a severe headache and body pains was a pain. That is when a thought occurred to me "Bunk the class today." After a prolonged struggle, I literally dragged myself out of the bed and got ready to welcome what seemed to be a long day ahead of me.

As usual, morning circle was at 9am sharp and I reached the auditorium at 9.10am. After partially participating in the morning circle I dragged my feet to Mr. Anil sachdev's class - Self Leadership. The class started 7 or 8 minutes late due to hung-over late comers like me. First thing Anil sir did was to help us understand the importance of others time.

Class started with a question - "What is the most important question that I would ask myself to be a self leader?" As I sat there thinking about this question it suddenly struck me like a thunder bolt am I good enough and immediately I received a reply from my inner voice - "yeah dude u r the man." Instantly another question was shot by the same voice -"If you are good enough, do you think you can be unbiased?" for which I am still searching myself to answer appropriately.

As time passed on we (my fellow batch mates and I) moved on from discovering ourselves to importance Observing and listening to others. The first intriguing topic was 6 LAYERS OF SELF which spoke about the 5 pillars of S.O.I.L - 1) Diversity 2) Compassion 3) Ethics 4) Sustainability 5) Mindfulness. Apart from these five pillars one more interesting topic which completed the 6 layers was "instincts".

Once the first session got over we took a break and again I went back late to the class by 4 mins. Anil sir graciously let us in to the class, with a sense of guilt i walked to my place and sat down to continue listening to the class. The session had a lot of activity which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The afternoon session talked about observing others and reading their minds with the help of eyes and gestures. This was followed by a session which explained the importance of active listening and its advantages. Anil sir wrapped up with few experiences of his and anecdotes from his life. It was a day filled with ups and down just likes our lives!!!!
