Finally blogging after a long time!
First proper lecture at SOIL started with Self- Leadership, session started with a few questions and group activities on self realisation. As told by the faculty Mr. Anil Sachdev that we have to maintain a learning journal in the form of a blog and that everyone has to post what he/she learned in the class. This journal would majorly cover my own reflection what all I am learning in this class. The session started with a question which was if I have to lead my ownself what is the most important question I need to ask myself. After a discussion on this question the 6 layers of Self were defined, which are:-
1. Body - "Divesity"
2. Instinct
3. Relationship - "Compassion"
4. Choices - "Ethics"
5. Ego - "Sustainability"
6. Truth - "Mindfulness"
"Only I(soul) is the subject, rest everything around are objects".
A saying which had a great impact on me was "When you have a higher purpose in life strange things tend to happen" which actually meant to me that when you start leading the path of being an inspired leader then you start doing things which you have never thought of & think out of the box.
Observing
There was this exercise in which we had to make our partner understand a story of our life which had a great impact on us by using only eyes, eyes + gestures, eyes + gestures + lip movement in order. In this exercise we learned alignment of mind, heart and body are required to influence others.
Listening
All the exercises that we went through in today's session gave us some learning. I found the listening exercises very interesting and was amazed how the speaker gains confidence and motivation if the listeners are good.
Communication by touch
From this exercise we learned that communication by touch sometimes doesn't need words to express the message that has been sent. It makes the person feel more closer and united to others.
In all we learned the importance of observing, listening and communication by touch. When all these three senses are aligned to the inspiration from the source than an Inspired Leader is created.
