"Emotional intelligence is a way of recognizing,
understanding, and choosing how we think, feel, and act. It shapes our
interactions with others and our understanding of ourselves. It defines how and
what we learn; it allows us to set priorities; it determines the majority of
our daily actions”.
Anil Sir, through self-leadership class gave us deep insight
about emotional intelligence & how appreciative enquiry is integral part of
emotional intelligence. He said that there are two types of emotional intelligence
one is mind emotional, which inspired us to do best work while other is heart
emotional due to which people don’t live their full potential. He said that
experiencing one's self in a conscious manner that is, gaining self-knowledge
is an integral part of learning and people with high in emotional intelligence
are expected to progress more quickly through the abilities designated and to
master more of them. After getting clarity about the emotional intelligence,
Sir elaborated the importance of what appreciative enquiry is all about &
why it is needed. He said that appreciative enquiry process is needed to
recognize, value, respect, and gratitude the positives of others, which
actually gives the sense of happiness to both. It’s very important to recognize
the efforts of others in order to add more values to personal life as well as
to professional.
After getting theoretical understanding, we actually
practiced the appreciative enquiry wherein I got wonderful opportunity to
understand some positives about Ms.Silshi who like to take the challenges. She
said that she was at her best at SOIL when she faced challenging situations
during the early days of college. In addition, she felt that leadership series
helping her to understand the practical meaning of inspired leadership. I am
very thankful of Anil Sir that such great forum not only helps to understand others
but also to build new bonds.
I
strongly believe after the Anil Sir session that art of appreciative enquiry is
very important in global competitive business world in order to build the trust
in the organization. It will help to meet the organization goal by
understanding & developing the support from colleague. In real sense
scenario, art of appreciative enquiry is the great tool to win against all the
odds that is the biggest learning I have ever got and now I am on the way to
incorporate it in my personal as well as professional life.
