Devendra Puntambekar_BLP052_Self Leadership_May 2012

So what if i am a PhD, so what if i did post doctoral studies, so what if i am a \national level \basketball player, so what if i have a patent on my name, so what if i have many research publications to my credit and so what ..........
These are all past experiences and they do not matter a lot in the present. Definately few of the past experiences do have an impact on few of the characters but there are many things to do further to bring out the leader in you and that was the journey which we all BLP guys went through Anil Sirs class yesterday.

The first question 'What question will you ask yourself first if you want to be a inspired leader'. This question seems easy at a first glance but as i went deeper many things started flowing through my mind and finally could conclude on - Who am I and whats the purpose of my life?

Initally the concept of Body-Mind and Soul were superficially discussed and then Anil Sir dived into the 6 layers of self. The alignment of these layers id what differenciates human being from an animal.
Starting from outer to inner the layers are - Body, Instinct, Relationship, Intellect, Ego and Life giving force the innermost.

The exercise by communication through eye, eye+body gestures, Lip movement+eyes+gestures and finally sharing using all helped me to understand the power of communication at different levels. The impact of communication employing all the layers is very profound rather using a single one.

WHEN YOU ARE INSPIRED BY HIGHER PURPOSE STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU. This statement had a great impact on my mind and has really forced me to think in a different way.

We all recognised in the middle fo first half that I is a subject and rest all other that is mind, emotions etc are objects governed by us. So there is a bigger 'I' and a smaller 'i' within you with the bigger one reflects your inner sense.

The second half of the lecture focussed on the importance of learning, the concept was made very clear with an exercise. I learnt that the power of listening has a great influence on the speaker. Listening to understand what is implied is really very important and the Ego/AlterEgo exercise helped a lot.
Finally the power of communication via touch was experienced. I did not know that this way of communication is really a powerful tool.

To conclude - Great leaders have great listening skills, use the power of observation and touch to the best ability and they always work for a cause with pure heart.

The first day was a great experience and looking forward for many such from Anil Sir.
