Rahul Thind_BLP019_Self Leadership_May 2012

I am not sure if blogging is one of my fortes but this will surely let me understand where my loyalties lie. Today we had our session on Self Leadership and we were greeted with a question which shaped our entire day. What are the questions I need to ask in order to lead myself better?
The entire session revolved around finding, refining and then again finding these questions. We started by understanding that which part of our body are we really in control of and which is the subject and which is the object that governs us. Our life force or soul is the subject and rest everything is the object.

Every person comprises of 6 layers which define him. Mindfulness is the bond that joins all of what is above and plays a part in how our vision, perception, believes and emotions are shaped. The 6 layers comprise of :

-Data
-Instinct
-Emotions/Compassion
-Intellect/Ethics
-Ego/Values/Sustainability
-Life Giving Force/Mindfulness

The main learning I can take from the session was that in order to lead yourself better, you not only need to add substance to what you do and speak but also understand that there are thousands of  ways of expression which can really set you apart from the rest. You don’t really need to say anything for the other person to understand, if you just listen with your heart, only then you can really implement what you receive from the outer world. A look into the eye can look at the soul. If you can harbor these qualities then you are not just a Leader but a leader who inspires.
